Xu Yongzhong,male,born in December 1969,Associate Professor,Master's Supervisor,member of the Chinese Geophysical Society. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Exploration Geophysics from China University of Petroleum (East China) in 1992 and worked at PetroChina Huabei Oilfield. He obtained his Master's degree in Earth Exploration and Information Technology from China University of Mining and Technology in 2000 and stayed on to teach,and obtained his Ph.D. in Earth Exploration and Information Technology from China University of Mining and Technology in 2008. He was selected as one of the 5th,6th,and 7th batches of Excellent Young Backbone Teachers of China University of Mining and Technology,and was assessed as Excellent in the faculty assessments in 2013 and 2021.

He has successively visited and studied at the University of Minnesota (2005.7-2005.8),Tsinghua University (2004.3-2004.7),China University of Petroleum (2008.9-2008.11),and the Institute of Geology and Geophysics,Chinese Academy of Sciences (2013.9-2014.2). He has presided over 3 teaching reform projects and more than 10 horizontal research projects from PetroChina and other entities,with research funding of over 10 million yuan. He has participated in many projects such as the 973 Program,the National Natural Science Foundation of China projects,National Major Projects,and scientific and technological research projects of Anhui Province. He has won 1 provincial/ministerial level award and 1 university-level Scientific and Technological Progress Award. He has been authorized 10 national software copyrights and 1 invention patent,and has published more than 40 academic papers,including more than 10 SCI and EI indexed papers,and published 1 monograph.

His main research directions are seismic data anomalous lithology prediction,in-situ stress tomographic inversion,deep igneous rock velocity modeling,intelligent seismic inversion processing and interpretation,and reservoir seismic prediction. The main courses he teaches include "Geophysical Exploration","Fundamentals of Geophysics","Digital Image Processing","Principles of Seismic Exploration","Theory and Practice of Seismic Inversion",and "Geophysical Inversion".
