Research directions: Geodynamic numerical simulation; Structural Geology; Oil and Gas Geology.

Research areas: Qinling-Dabie-Sulu Orogen,Shanxi Graben System,Junggar Basin,Qaidam Basin.

Research methods:

(1) Geodynamic numerical simulation: Using mainstream dynamic simulation programs to carry out simulations of plate subduction-collision-exhumation.

(2) Tectonophysical simulation: The self-built tectonophysical simulation laboratory has advanced instruments,capable of obtaining data such as velocity field,strain field,vorticity field,and surface elevation of the model,and generating corresponding maps. In recent years,simulations of the Shanxi Graben System and the southern margin of the Qaidam Basin have been carried out.

(3) Structural analysis,geochronology,and lithogeochemical analysis.
